Diamond Guide

Understanding Your Diamond.

Every diamond has its own combination of characteristics.

At Tesha Jewels, we believe choosing a diamond should feel exciting, not complicated. Our Diamond Guide introduces the key qualities to consider so you can make your choice with greater confidence.

THE 4Cs OF A DIAMOND

The internationally recognised 4Cs — Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat — help describe and compare diamonds.

1. CUT — The Art of Brilliance

Cut describes how well a diamond's proportions, symmetry and polish allow it to interact with light.

A beautifully cut diamond can appear bright, lively and full of brilliance.

For round brilliant diamonds, where applicable and available, selected Tesha Jewels diamonds may be offered with Triple Excellent — 3EX.

This generally refers to Excellent Cut, Excellent Polish and Excellent Symmetry on an applicable grading report.

The exact grading information for an independently graded diamond should always be confirmed from its individual laboratory report.

2. COLOUR — From D to I

Diamond colour grading assesses the absence of colour in diamonds graded within the standard colour scale.

Tesha Jewels' available diamond colour range is D · E · F · G · H · I.

D represents the highest colour grade on the standard D–Z scale.

D–F is the Colourless range and G–H is the Near-colourless range.

Tesha Jewels does not intend to offer diamonds below I colour within our standard D–I offering.

Availability depends on the individual jewellery design and diamond selected.

3. CLARITY — The Details Within

Clarity refers to the presence of natural internal characteristics and external features within a diamond, assessed under standard grading conditions.

Our available clarity range extends from VS1 · VS2 · SI1 · SI2.

VS1–VS2 (Very Slightly Included): minor inclusions that may be visible to a skilled grader under 10× magnification.

SI1–SI2 (Slightly Included): noticeable inclusions under 10× magnification, with their visibility varying depending on their size, type and position within the diamond.

At Tesha Jewels, we consider clarity alongside the diamond's cut, colour and overall appearance — because a grading certificate tells part of the story, but the beauty of a diamond is in how all its characteristics come together.

4. CARAT — Understanding Diamond Weight

Carat measures a diamond's weight, not simply its visible size.

1.00 carat = 200 milligrams.

Two diamonds with the same carat weight can appear different in size depending on their shape, proportions and cut.

When choosing a diamond, carat should therefore be considered alongside the other characteristics rather than in isolation.

DIAMOND SHAPES — Find the Shape That Feels Like You

Depending on availability and jewellery design, Tesha Jewels may offer a range of diamond shapes.

Other diamond shapes may also be available for selected or bespoke jewellery.

Available Shapes

  • Round — Classic brilliance and timeless appeal.
  • Oval — An elongated silhouette with an elegant appearance.
  • Emerald — Defined by clean lines and a distinctive step-cut appearance.
  • Pear — A combination of rounded and pointed contours.
  • Cushion — Soft corners with a classic, romantic character.
  • Princess — A contemporary square shape with strong brilliance.
  • Radiant — A rectangular or square silhouette combining brilliant-style faceting with defined edges.
  • Marquise — An elongated shape with distinctive pointed ends.

NATURAL OR LABORATORY-GROWN?

Tesha Jewels offers selected jewellery with Natural Diamonds and Laboratory-Grown CVD Diamonds.

Natural diamonds are formed through geological processes within the Earth.

Laboratory-grown diamonds are created under controlled conditions using advanced technology, and have a different origin from natural diamonds.

The diamond origin will be clearly identified so you can choose according to your own preferences and priorities.

WHICH DIAMOND SHOULD I CHOOSE?

There is no single diamond specification that is right for every client.

Consider what matters most to you.

Our aim is to help you find the balance that is right for your jewellery rather than simply choosing the highest number or grade.

Consider What Matters Most

DIAMOND CERTIFICATION

Every qualifying Tesha Jewels Gold or Platinum jewellery product includes a Complimentary Tesha Jewels Authenticity Certificate.

Where available and requested, independent grading reports may also be arranged from laboratories such as GIA · IGI · HRD Antwerp.

Independent laboratory reports are chargeable and availability, price and turnaround time depend on the individual diamond and selected laboratory.
