Hallmarking & Certification
Confidence in Every Detail.
Fine jewellery should be as reassuring as it is beautiful.
At Tesha Jewels, we believe you should understand the precious metal, diamond and documentation accompanying your jewellery.
UK HALLMARKING — Your Precious Metal, Independently Verified
Where required by UK law, qualifying Tesha Jewels precious-metal jewellery offered and supplied in the United Kingdom will be appropriately hallmarked.
A UK hallmark provides independent verification of the precious-metal fineness of an item.
Hallmarking requirements depend on factors including the precious metal and the item's weight.
UNDERSTANDING A UK HALLMARK
Depending on the item and applicable hallmarking requirements, a hallmark can contain marks identifying important information about the jewellery. These may include:
- Sponsor's or Maker's Mark — Identifies the registered person or business that submitted the item for hallmarking.
- Millesimal Fineness Mark — Indicates the precious-metal fineness.
- Assay Office Mark — Identifies the UK Assay Office responsible for testing and hallmarking the item.
Additional optional marks may also appear where applicable.
PRECIOUS METALS
Depending on the design, Tesha Jewels may offer jewellery in selected precious-metal options including Gold and Platinum.
The applicable metal and fineness will be clearly identified with the individual product.
OFFICIAL DEALER'S NOTICE
Tesha Jewels will display the official UK Dealer's Notice explaining approved hallmarks for precious metals.
[DEVELOPER: DISPLAY THE CURRENT OFFICIAL DEALER'S NOTICE HERE]
The Dealer's Notice should be clearly readable and accessible to customers rather than recreated or altered as a Tesha Jewels graphic.
TESHA JEWELS CERTIFICATE
Every qualifying Tesha Jewels Gold or Platinum jewellery product is accompanied by our Complimentary Tesha Jewels Authenticity / Product Certificate.
Depending on the jewellery, the certificate may record relevant product information such as:
- Jewellery/product identification
- Precious-metal details
- Diamond type/origin
- Diamond carat information
- Diamond colour
- Diamond clarity
- Relevant product specifications
- Tesha Jewels certificate/reference number
The Tesha Jewels certificate is our product documentation and should not be presented as a substitute for an independent gemological laboratory grading report.
INDEPENDENT DIAMOND GRADING
For eligible diamonds, customers may request independent grading/certification where available from recognised laboratories such as GIA, IGI and HRD Antwerp.
Independent laboratory grading/certification is chargeable.
The applicable price, availability and turnaround time will depend on the selected diamond, laboratory and service requested.
WHICH DIAMONDS CAN RECEIVE INDEPENDENT REPORTS?
Not every diamond or jewellery design will necessarily be suitable or eligible for every laboratory service.
Our Client Services team will confirm available certification options before an additional laboratory service is ordered.
Where an independent report accompanies a diamond, customers should refer to that report for the grading characteristics assessed by the relevant laboratory.
TESHA JEWELS & INDEPENDENT CERTIFICATION
It is important to distinguish between the two:
Tesha Jewels Certificate — Complimentary with every qualifying Gold or Platinum Tesha Jewels product.
Independent Laboratory Report — Optional and chargeable where available, including services from laboratories such as GIA, IGI or HRD Antwerp.
